Are you interested in knowing God?
God put into all human beings a longing for Him. However, many reject Him and are looking for satisfaction of life from elsewhere. Possibly they have had some religious disappointments in the past or they have wrong ideas about God. My prayer is that while you are reading this page, God Himself would help you to overcome all hindrances so that you can find the answer to the most important question of your life.
How can one come to faith?
Being a believer means living in an active relationship with God. Read the following passages and you will know how to find the way to God.
What is Faith?
Father God, Jesus the Son of God and the Holy Spirit meet us on the pages of the Bible. They form a wonderful unity from which love, power, and life flow. God is full of goodness but He is also absolutely holy.
John 1:4 “In Him was life and that life was the light of men”
God created man to live in relationship with Him and set him in the paradise. There the connection between man and his Creator was perfect and without any fractures. God had given the man a free will so that he could independently decide if he will stay on God's side or turn against Him. Therefore, there was also the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” in the paradise. When the man faced a choice, he believed the devil more than God. The man let himself to be led astray, took the prohibited fruit and cut his connection to God. As a consequence he was expelled from the paradise of Eden.
“And the LORD God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.' ”
“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
From that moment until today, man has been suffering from the burden of his sin and guilt, eventually facing the death. Sin means a life without God, an attitude to act and live without Him and against His plan.
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned”
All the man's numerous attempts to find the way back to the paradise have failed. The existence of many religions is a proof of the man's continuous search. However, there is only one way to the destination.
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
God as a loving Father was extremely displeased that man turned away from Him. Therefore He came to search for us and sent His Son to the world to save us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus approached the sinners, the needy and the lost people. He taught them about the Kingdom of God, set them free from their inner chains and healed the sick.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed...”
When Jesus died on the cross, he bore all our sins that separate us from God. At the same time he paid the full ransom price to redeem us from the power of sin and death back to fellowship with God.
1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
God offers every human being His forgiveness and the restoration of the fellowship with Him. Therefore He calls us to repent and to receive the salvation prepared by Jesus. Thus, the greatest chance of our life is in front of us.
"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out”
If we turn to God as sinners, repent and believe in Jesus, God will unconditionally wipe our guilt away. We cannot earn the salvation. We are saved only by grace, by believing that the death and resurrection of Jesus has conquered the power of sin and death.
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
This is how we will become genuinely new men and women. We experience an inner rebirth. Guilt has been wiped out and God has accepted us to fellowship with Him. Now the new life that Jesus has given us should start growing in us and molding our everyday life.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
As a sign of our faith and our decision to follow Jesus we let ourselves to be baptized.
“Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
“Those who accepted his message were baptized”
A Personal Question to You
Do you recognize that you are a sinner? Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sake? Do you want that Jesus will forgive your sins and that the Spirit of God will lead your life? If you answered “yes” to these questions, why would you not ask Jesus to enter your life right now? Let the following prayer become your own prayer; step into the Kingdom of God:
“Lord Jesus, I come to you now and bring my sinful life to You. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your blood. Come to my life as the Lord and Saviour. Now I step in faith into the Kingdom of God. Take control of my life and make me the person You want me to be. I thank You that You heard my prayer and I am now Your child. Amen.”
If you prayed from your heart, the following promise of God is for you:
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
Now a new page is turned in your life – you have come to faith, you have found God!
If you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, confirm your decision by writing it on a paper. It can help you in the times when you feel uncertain.
